Hello everyone, i have hp pavilion dv6 intel core i5 m450 2.4ghz 4gb (1slot used while other slot empty). I would like to know if its advisable to buy 1 more 4 GB RAM because some sources are saying its okay to increase it to 8GB, i also ran "crucial scan" on my laptop and it also shows i can upgrade my laptop to 8GB, so i need your advice on this forum

Solution
On your old laptop, the jump from 2GB RAM had much more noticeable effect than a jump from 4gb to 8gb on your new laptop.

Adding second stick of RAM will improve your performance, for sure, Just make sure you get compatible memory, most of vendors have wizards which will choose a compatible product.

I use it for gaming sometimes (been a very long time I played game with it). When I open a tab on google chrome (same issue with opera mini), my pc physical memory goes up to 58 and increasing till maybe 66.
My second laptop behaved same months ago but after I increased the ram from 2gb to 4 gb, it works perfect and running at 44 even with several tabs on. So my question is, can I increase the RAM to 8GB since I still have one slot left empty.

My laptop specs
Inte(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M450 @2.40GHz @2.40GHz
4GB (3.8GB usable)
64 bit Operating System
Rating 5.9 windows experience index
ATI Mobility Raedon HD 5650

Thanks for your answer, knowing I can upgrade it to 8GB. I will be going to the electronic shops with my laptop and I will check for same ram designs (compatible as the slot 4GB RAM) and testing of this RAM.
