Im currently waiting for the parts to build my second pc and i just recently got one of my asus 1080 ti OC and i was wondering if i could slap it into my current pc just to get the extra gpu power out of it while i wait.

my current build is an AMD FX 8350, 16gb RAM, gigabyte 783LMT motherboard with two 1 TB HDD 7200RPM and one 120gb sata ssd all in a storm stryker white case.

Now my current psu is an evga 550w gold rated. would this be enough to handle the 1080 it along with all my other parts?

You will be fine using your 550W power supply. That system would use ~350w at a gaming load.

Please take those PSU calculators with a grain of salt. They're aren't accurate and often overestimate.
