Help! Moving OS to Another Hard Drive!

Basically, I'm changing my computer case, and the one I'm getting only supports one 3.5" drive. I have a 1TB (files) hard drive, and a 500GB (OS) hard drive. I have enough space on the 1TB drive to make a partition to move the OS to it, but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing it. My plan is to copy all of the C:\ files to the partition, current called N:\, and then get a bootable program that will let me change drive letters without having to boot the OS. I have all my files backed up if worse comes to worse, but I really don't want to do a clean install. I've tried using Clonezilla and it gave me issues. Is there another way of going about doing this?

Thank you in advance!

Solution
Really, a clean install is almost always the answer, but if you insist on moving partitions and such, give AOMEI Partition Manager a try. It's free, and it works well. You may have to upgrade to the pro version to do some of what you want to do, but it's worth it. Also, you might try an external USB-to-SATA HDD docking station (they're cheap and handy): http://www.640kram.com/hardware-software/usb-to-sata-hdd-docking-station/

Solution
1. First of all, you didn't provide sufficient information re your system and precise objective so it's not really possible to give you a sensible response until you do provide the necessary info.

2. Obviously the new 1 TB HDD has sufficient space to contain the total data contents of your present 500 GB boot drive. But I take it you want ONLY the C:\ system data on the latter drive to be transferred to the 1 TB HDD since that drive will be serving as the new boot drive. And I guess you plan to use the 500 GB HDD as a USB external HDD for secondary storage or some such. Are those your basic objectives?

3. If they are, then tell us how your 500 GB drive is presently configured...
A. Is it single-partitioned so that ALL the data is contained on that single partition?
B. Or is the drive multi-partitioned with the system (C:\) partition in its own partition? Is that the N: partition you've referred to?

ArtPog, if memory serves me, I thought OP mentioned having lots of stuff under "N" drive letter. If that applies to the numerous programs and utilities, it is going to be a challenge changing registry entires and shortcuts from drive letter N to drive letter C? Or, am I reading this thread wrongly?
