No increase in cs go fps after upgrading graphics card (please help)

I play counter strike global offensive online and this was my rig

Amd a4 5300 dual core @ 3.4ghz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 2GB DDR3
4gb ram
Corsair 450 watt psu

With this rig i used to get 50-80 fps(lowest settings and 800x600 resolution) in csgo. I thought that if I get a better graphics card then may be I'll manage to get above 100fps. So I bought a GAINWARD NVIDIA GeForce gtx 650 1GB GDDR5 but still I get like 50-80 fps like I used to get before. There has been no improvement even after upgrading the graphics card. What could be the issue here?

The issue is that at low settings you are limited by the CPU, not the graphics card. The graphics card is more than capable of offering you higher performance than your older card, but since you were probably not taxing it too much even before you got the new card since your settings were so low the GPU card is likely NOT the limiting factor, the CPU is. You can probably turn your quality settings UP a little bit higher than before and maintain the same frame rates you had with them all the way down, but your frame rates are likely to only be as fast as what your CPU is capable of and since you have a low end CPU, you're probably already maxed out based on what your processor can provide.

It might also be worth doing a clean install of your graphics card drivers as outlined at the following link. Some settings may be stuck based on the card that used to be installed rather than what is in there now. GPU card driver settings and framework can sometimes also affect CPU performance IN GAME. Worth a try anyhow. Doesn't cost you anything to try it.
