Sata cable prevents PC from turning on?

Hey all,
Today I transferred all of my components in to a new PC case. In doing so, I wasn’t careful with my hard drive and accidentally broke my sata cable. I did everything else except for plug in a sata cable and when I attempt to turn on my PC, nothing happens. When I flip off and then on my power supply switch, one little blue light on my motherboard comes on, but nothing else. Is this normal because I have no sata cable going from my hard drive and my motherboard and are my files and other stuff safe? I will be getting a new sata cable tomorrow. Also, I have a bunch of cables that are very tight in my back panel, but I don’t think that’s the problem of why it’s not turning on, Thanks and if you know why my pc is not powering on, please reply.

Hey Ryan,
Not to worry, your files should be safe. However it isn't normal for nothing to happen when you turn it on, you should see some sort of motherboard logo followed by some sort of "No operating system found" error. Is there absolutely nothing on the screen?

Yes, there is nothing. My cables on the back panel are very smashed against the back of the case and I could barely fit on the panel with force, so i don’t know if that’s the problem? But I really want to fix this... so idk what to do :(
