Hello, I'm new to the Pc world, I've had many gaming pc's, but they've all been pre built and I figure it's time to build my own. Anyhow, I'm looking to have a computer (or laptop if possible) I can build to run some graphics overhauls and much more. My budget is around 600-700, I could take it to 800 if I needed to. Thank you so much for any help I could get.

Also, if this is the wrong thread I apologize, I'm not 100 percent sure what it should be.

1060 3gb will be fine for most games, but you'll be VRAM limited for the most part, especially on newer titles on medium+ settings. The 6gb version is simply a better card for not that much price difference.

8GB of RAM is still fine, but it's more worth it to buy 16GB now because adding a second...

Also, I forgot to mention, I already have a gtx 1050 2gb oc edition from windforce. Will this be good? If not it is no problem, just figured it's good to let you know.

You won't be able to do serious graphical Skyrim mods with a 1050, you may only get one middle-ground ENB or a couple graphical changes before it starts to get pushed to its limit. Ideally you'd want at least a 1050 Ti or 1060 3gb. But, for Skyrim base and a few extra mods, it should run 60 fps no problem.

This is just slightly out of your budget but would basically be considered ideal. You could throw your 1050 into this and it would be just fine until you got a new GPU. I should say that this also doesn't have an SSD, so if you used your current 1050 you could use the spare money to buy a 240GB SSD for your boot drive. It's probably worth it.

Thank you very much! I was reading on some other threads and read that the ram memory wouldn't need to exceed 8gb, again, you know way more about this than I do, figured I could shave about 80 dollars off the build for now and could add on. I will indeed be adding an ssd later as well, and also, read the 1060 3gb would do just fine, just would like to hear your input since I'm currently using a system that was average 7 years ago lol

8GB of RAM is still fine, but it's more worth it to buy 16GB now because adding a second stick doesn't always work. Unless you're prepared to buy another 16GB kit in the future.
