Right, so basically my problem is this. I just got a new Desktop that I had to put together myself. I forgot to get a hard drive so I decided to get it from my old desktop. The hard drive has 1 tb of total storage, and has windows 10 installed. Is there anyway I could just keep it hooked up, and boot it up with windows 10? If not how could I wipe the hard drive? (Also, I threw away all of the parts to my old pc, so there’s no chance I’m setting that up)

Generally speaking, and contrary to what some might say, it's ALWAYS a good idea to do a clean install with new hardware, especially a new motherboard, because there will be significant differences in the CPU chipset and storage controller drivers. Sometimes it will work ok if both were fairly similar, but usually there is some kind of issue that comes up sooner or later or problems you just can't put your finger on. So long as your Windows 10 installation was registered to your Microsoft account, using the Windows 10 "license" on another system that you've upgraded to should not be a problem. Even if it wasn't, there are remedies available through Microsoft for making it work so either way it should be a non-issue.
