Hi Guys,

I've just put together a new rig and installed windows on my SSD. Everything's worked first time which is a breath of fresh air. However when I've gone to initialise the 1tb WD HDD using the DIsk Management tool i get the error message "Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)."

Reading around it appears this is caused by a corrupt drive that would need to be formatted, however I have no idea how I can format it if it is not initialised! Apologies if this is basics for most of you but how can I format and initialise this new HDD?

Many thanks in advance of any advice.

If all the cables are verified tight, send it back.

Thanks for the reply.

It's brand spanking new off Amazon. Is it something that can be caused by a loose connection or is it likely a bricked drive?
