Need help with front panel connectors!

Hello.

I am rebuilding my computer with a new motherboard and in a new case. I am a bit at a loss right now as I am installing the front panel connectors and the manual doesn't really provide any help.

My new motherboard is an Asus Prime Z270A. With it came a "Q-connector" which is basically a collector or the cables and plugs them all in at once. On it there's text for the cables to connect. The ones that I have connected are the Reset SW, PLED+ and PLED-.

The remaining free connectors are HDD LED +, HDD LED- and NC. Then theres one big one for Speaker which contains Speaker, Ground, Ground and +5v. Then there's Ground and PWR. And the last is another PLED + and -.

I have only two more cables. Power SW and LED SW. I guess that Power SW goes into PWR, does that mean that LED SW goes into the second PLED? How do I know its not the already plugged in PLED that goes into this one?

Please, any help, tips or advice is appreciated!

If http://www.corsair.com/~/media/corsair/download-files/manuals/cases/carbide_air740_installation_guide.pdf, I see no LED SW. It's HDD LED. Page 21.

the motherboard is usually labeled as well. perhaps skipping the all-in-one connector and simply plugging the few cables yu have into their spots would be easier for you.

never seen a manual that was as lacking in detail but normally the mobo is labeled as to where each cable goes.

and the PLED is the led sw you have. they are the same. simply makes the little light come on when the power is on. can even leave it off and it won't hurt anything.

Great, thanks! It's a Corsair Carbide 740.
I honestly don't know. The PLED I already connected are 2 single slot cables named "PLED + & -" and the LED SW + & - is a double slot. This case does have a RGB button on the front panel for the Corsair RGB fans. Though I can't make out if that button has an LED.

I have to agree with you Math Geek. My previous MB manual wasn't very detailed but it was a lot better than 'connect this' which tells you nothing if something doesn't correspond to the picture.

looking at that manual, if you have the single power led cables connected, then the only other option is hdd led. makes the little light flicker when hdd is working.

again can leave it off and not hurt anything if you wish or can't get it connected right. :)

is odd it labels it as hdd led on manual and then led sw on connection. makes no sense at all to do that.

I believe you are right. I checked both the manual I have in hand and the online one. The thing should be called HDD LED but the stupid thing says LED SW. I checked all the cables and the only one that doesn't match is the HDD LED and the LED SW. I guess they changed it recently or something. Confusing as hell.

I just have one more question if you can answer it, it would be great. As you see in the manual, the Power SW has an arrow on one of the pin connectors. On the pin, it wants on of them to be the PWR and one Ground. Both cables are all black and I don't know which on is Ground and which one is PWR. Any thoughts?
