Can i change the vcore on my procesor without bios that allows overclocking?

hi

I need help. Im overclocking my cpu (q6600) and it wont go further than 2600 mhz.
I need to increase my vcore, but i dont know how, beacouse i have a dell bios, and i didint find a modded bios.
Could someone help?

the reason the mobo does not allow you to up the voltage and such is because it was not made to handle it.

they know it so they don't include the option. you can likely get away with the tape mod but that's about all you can do with it. i have an old dell with a q6600 i also did the tape mod for. worked fine and has been that way for a few years now. but i did notice the cpu cooler working a bit harder. if you don't have a massive cooler, i'd not try it. those old cpu's are power hungry beasts at 100w stock and even more overclocked.

i have a dell xps 420 which already has a massive cooler. get a new cooler if you don't already have a large one for the cpu. otherwise it won't last long even with such a small increase a 3 ghz.

I also have a xps 420. Lol cool to know and yeah, its big. Im giving a gt 1030 to boost it up, and i overclocked it on SetFSB. But ill try the tape mod and will see if it will work :)

so you're good for 3 ghz then. that cooler works a bit harder but is plenty good enough. i have an r9-270 dropped in mine. best it could run at the time on the stock psu.

considered a better one with all the new low power gpu's out, but don't see that is is totally needed. kids aint complaining anyway.
