Failing northbridge? Asrock 960gc-gs fx

I have had a couple of pc restarts in the last couple of days. It happened while i was playing and once while browsing the internet. The event viewer shows a WHEA-logger error.

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

So i would like to know if i should swap out the motherboard or is it fixable? Thanks in advance!

Well it could just be overheating, especially if the thermal paste has dried up. You can try replacing the paste under the northbridge heatsink, if you don't have one try pointing a fan to blow air onto the northbridge heatsink.

You can try checking temps with something like HWinfo, however I am not sure if that board will even have a thermal sensor for the northbridge.

It is not an overheating issue, i have heatsink with a fan installed on it, it runs at 40-45 degrees (Celsius), under load. The paste was replaced 3-4 weeks ago.
