I recently bought a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter after being told in a previous question this was what I needed since my psu only had 2 6 pin connections. Before getting the adapter my monitor would not even power on at all, with the 6 to 8 pin adapter now my monitor powers on but I am getting the error "Please power down and connect the PCIe power cables for this graphics card". I checked and double checked the connections even trying a different adapter since I bought 2 of them, nothing made any difference.
