LG TV wifi connection slows after a while but switching between 2G and 5G fixes it

On first connecting my LG OLED 55E7 TV to my wireless network, connection speed is fine at between 50 to 70 Mbps, about the same as I get on my phone, and it's more than enough for 4K streaming. However after a few hours or at best a couple of days, it slows to 2-3 Mbps, which isn't good enough. Manually switching between 2G and 5G signals on the same wifi router fixes the problem, but its a bit of a pain to have to keep doing this. Why doesn't the TV use the available barndwidth? Why does disconnecting and reconnecting fix it?

I'm pretty sure this isn't an issue with WiFi signal strength or interference on 2G or 5G frequencies. I've often had the problem whilst connected to the 5G band, switched to 2G and straight back to 5G and it's fine again. I suspect it's a software problem somewhere, my guess is in way the TV manages its connections.

Thanks for your reply Kanewolf. I do generally use the 5G band, the 2G is just handy to switch to from the 5G when the latter is suffering from the problem described.
