I have read over and over again about how bad the 760gma mobo is, but i'm not so sure it's all that bad. It's not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it isn't as bad as it's been made out to be, or at least mine doesn't seem to be. I was told to be careful not to put a large PSU in, this board doesn't do well above 550w, I have a 750W Corsair, no problems, runs smooth. Don't Overclock too much on on processor, just topped off my CPU (FX6350) at 4.9, running Prime in the background as we speak, was just playing Cities:Skylines, Temp has not gone above 50c max, generally running around 38c with all this going on. I have a nice Nvidia GTX 1050TI that required a little patients to install, but it's there. I do have issues with upgrading from time to time, but i do not see why this board is supposedly so bad? Can somebody please explain to me what is so bad about it? I am really curious as to the answer, Everything i have tried to upgrade on this board has turned out well beyond expectation, but i was a nervous mess trying to do it for fear of blowing the board, or worse burning down my house. Maybe i just got a good one , i'm not sure, but this is my second, my first is still running over behind me right now, basically the same as i have on this one, but only a FX4300, and standard cooling system.

The board has weak VRMs, and no heatsinks on them. The size of the PSU has nothing to do with it, but the current demand of the CPU does. The CPU may not be at any risk of overheating (thus low temps like 50C); it is the VRMs that can blow chunks. It also runs at lower internal clock rates (i.e. MT/s) than the CPU supports, and lacks modern interfaces. I'm not going to tell you to scrap it if it's what you have and is running, but don't expect longevity from it. Make sure your case has good airflow through it to cool those VRMs.

That makes sense, as far as demand, I get a lot out of it i suppose, i do play a lot of demanding games. The board tends to do well with most things, and ventilation is really good, plus my a/c is always on in my house (winter here is about 70 degrees). I was just really curious about it as i have not had any major issues with it. I guess it's a good starter board ?? maybe. I do plan to begin a new build this year, starting with a new board: thinking the MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon Not sure yet.
