Losing Internet Connection With Static IP

I want to set up static IP for my PC to enable QoS on it since my router sets it using ip address range only. But everytime I set it to a static ip (either through my router or device itself) my PC no longer connects to the internet.

depends on your contract with your internet service provider. recheck ifyou are allowed to have a static IP to your router.

have you tried using mac address instead? if you wanted to use static ip address you have to use the netmask eg. 192.168.0.13/32. meaning resolve to this single ip address.

My router for some reason doesn't support Mac address for qos settings for some reason. It only allows me to set QoS using IP address range only. Which is really a big problem for me since I'm not that good with router configuration. And also yes I'm allowed to have static IP. My friend had done this for me before but had to reset my router.
