GTX 650, upgrade now or wait for Volta?

I have a GTX 650 and I'm caught in a dilemma, should I upgrade to a GTX 1050 Ti or a GTX1060 6GB? Or should I wait till Volta is released and get a better card? Or wait for Volta and get a 1060 since it's price would slightly drop? I don't have much to spend and a 1060 6GB is almost all I can fish out my cash for. I would be gaming at 1080p but I would love to future proof my PC for 4-5 more years. I can currently play the latest titles at lowest settings at 30 FPS ±

My PC Specs (just for reference):
Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz
GTX 650
8 GB Ram

Thanks in advance.

There is always something better on the way. If you will wait for Volta, why not wait for what's after Volta?

That's why I recommend to people that they buy what they need, when they need it. Trying to future proof for 4 or more years is a pure guess. No one knows what the resolutions will be then, what level of vram you'll need, or anything else.

Right now you could do good at 1080p with a 1050 Ti, and you'd do great with a 1060 at 1080p. I'd rather have a 1050 Ti to enjoy my games with rather than be stuck with a 650, then when Volta comes out it costs too much for me since the first models that come out are the high end and I wind up buying a 1060 anyways after having wasted all that time.
there is very little chance you will be able to get volta card before mid summer. If you are ready to wait that long, you will get about 15-30% more performance for your money.
Keep in mind that you are probably going to need to upgrade the CPU within a year or two.
