Hello,

Can i put the GSkill DDR4 Trident Z 4000 Mhz on Asus Z170-A mb or what is the max memory supported with the bios updated

Solution
Yes, with a 4.8Ghz overclock you can probably use almost any memory speed you wish to use so long as it is otherwise compatible.

Your board is very similar to the Z170-Deluxe which also states it only supports up to 3466mhz but mostly this is because there were no memory kits faster than 3466mhz at the time that board and it's specifications were released. As you can see at the following link they were easily able to use DDR4-4000mhz memory on that board but that doesn't mean you won't have to do some tweaking in the bios to get them to run at that speed. Probably if you simply set the XMP profile they will work fine, but every CPU and motherboard exhibit different characteristics, even if they have the same model number, so you just...
That depends on your CPU, but most likely the fastest memory you will be able to use without at least a medium-ish overclock on your CPU is 3000mhz. Maybe 3200mhz. At 4000mhz you will pretty much be assured that some kind of overclock to the CPU in order to get the memory controller at an acceptable speed will be necessary.

Technically, yes, you can run those modules.
