Hi there,

I want to upgrade my PC and planning to buy new VGA Gigabyte GTX1050 Ti G1 but I wondering is it still compatible with my motherboard Gigabyte GA z77x-d3h?

current spec:
core i5-3330 3.20 GHz
Gigabyte z77x-d3h
RAM DDR3 16GB
GeForce GT 630
WD green SSD 120GB
Seagate barracuda 1TB
PSU Corsair HX650W

if it's not compatible anymore, let me know if it's any other options

thanks in advance!

Solution
It's perfectly compatible, yes. It needs a 6-pin PCIe power cable, but your PSU should have 2 of them, so all good!

I see.
but what are those 2 of them? power cables?

Among the many cables that come with the PSU, you should have two which are labelled as "PCIe 6+2" (like these: https://overclock3d.net/gfx/articles/2010/01/12092602232s.jpg , from this review: https://overclock3d.net/reviews/power_supply/corsair_hx650w_650w_atx_psu/3). You will need one of these to power the GPU. It is indeed a power cable, it connects directly the PSU and the GPU. The GPUs may require 6-pin (as in your GPU) or 8-pin, but they use the same cable, hence the 6+2. Just leave unplugged the +2 part of the cable.
