Hi, So recently I have installed a new motherboard (ASUS PRIME H270 PRO), I was dumb and didn't do any preparation with drivers etc. which caused a blue screen every time windows tried to start. So i posted a question on what to do. I was told that I should try to reinstall windows, so a few days later I have got a windows install disk, The problem is that I have no idea on how to install it. I've researched this and it says to go into BIOS and boot from CD ROM, the problem is that i don't get that option. At this point i have not idea and I am using this as a last resort.

Boot the PC, go into the BIOS (press DEL). Once in the BIOS, you should be seeing on the right hand-side of the screen a section called "Boot priority" (see page 2-7 of the manual: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/PRIME_H270-PRO/E12009_PRIME_H270-PRO_UM_web.pdf?_ga=2.38587363.1984212466.1514808254-124684097.1505811583). If not, you may have the "Advanced" menus activated, in that case you should have a top row of menu items (page 2-8 of the manual): select the item "Boot". In both cases, depending on the drives you have installed, you might see different items, but you need to make the DVD drive the first one in the list. Once that is done, have the windows installation disc inside the DVD, then press F10 and select yes to save the changes. The PC should re-boot, and after the POST messages, it should prompt you to hit any key to start Windows installation. Follow the instructions from there on.
Hope this helps! :)

I only have the option SATA6G_6: DRW-(Numbers and Letters)
Have i not hooked up the DVD drive correctly?

Are you sure the installation disc works? If you insert it in the reader of some other working computer, can it be read?
If you go again into the BIOS, and check the boot order, is the DVD still the first item?
Note that, when starting the computer from a Windows Installation DVD, you have but a few seconds at startup (when prompted to do so) to hit a key to enter the install program. If you don't hit any key, it will try to boot normally from the hard drive, and will lead in your case to an error.

I have tried the DVD on another computer and it can be read, and I am not told to press a key when the computer starts.

I was under the impression that Microsoft wouldn't support specific functions of the newest processors in any OS older than Windows 10, but that doesn't mean that a 7th gen processor won't be able to run Windows 7.

Ok yeah, so it was a problem with my CPU not working with windows 7, I should have mentioned the other specs, because i also installed an I5 7500. So i have installed Windows 10 Home through USB, and everything has gone well so far, drivers are installing. Thanks for helping, I really appreciate it. :)
