Hi. Happy New Year by the way.

need advice on new GPU for a 2012 Gaming system bought in U.K. To be used in U.K.
Computer crashed recently while playing Wolfenstein 2 and local techie said it was the GPU that needed replacing. one of the fans was also not working.

I play all games from Sky Rim, fallout4, Doom, Witcher, Far Cry series GT5 , COD, and TF2 amoungst others.

Monitor may need replacing too. 22inch Samsung Synmaster 226BW

GPU - VTS AMD Radeon 3GB DDR5 7950 x-edition

Processor Intel Core i5-3570K
Processor external bus 100MHz (DMI)
Processor multiplier x47
Processor clock speed 4.7GHz ( not sure if that's correct as it only shows 3.4 Ghz in device manager)
Processor socket LGA1155
Memory 16GB
Memory type PC3-14900
Maximum memory 32GB
Motherboard Asus P8Z77-V LX
Motherboard chipset

What would logical upgrade be to keep playing latest games in high or ultra settings.
Plenty of room in tower for similar sized GPU.
Not really interested in SLI set up.

Thanks for looking. Budget about £150
And should I stick with AMD or go with Nvidia?

Thanks for quick reply.

Sorry I meant to add that
I have a 750watt X-viper posercool PSU.
My monitor is

1680 x 1050 native resolution. While your here should I stick with Samsung and just get a bigger one say 27 inch?
Contrast Ratio 700:1 / 3000:1 (dynamic)
Color Support 16.7 million

Thanks
Toby.
