I'm writing on behalf of my mother who has an issue that she cant sign in/connect her MS Office anymore on her [Windows 10] laptop.

Yesterday, after an update, she is not able to access Office such es Word, Excel and Outlook. It keeps asking her to sign in. But after entering the required detail (email and password), it keeps telling her that it cant connect. Outlook keeps coming up with the connection issue followed by the code: 0800ccc0.
In the end, we have deleted Office and installed the trial version of 365 because she needs Word for her work immediately. This at least worked without asking to sign in. But Outlook still keeps on failing to connect. I should clarify that she has Outlook connected to Gmail.
This kept on failing so I have suggested to her to try out Windows Live Mail 2012, because I personally use it as well on my laptop that has Win 10 too. And yet, it still fails to connect to Gmail. We have followed the instruction how to link them together and I have checked on mine as well such as IMAP, etc. All the fields are entered correctly and yet it keeps on failing to connect. She can obviously access her mails through google it self but for work purpose she must use Outlook.

I personally had the update as well but I do not suffer from these aggravations. We have spend the entire afternoon trying to work it out. Google had no solution to her problem.

You mean before or after the update?
So far I know she payed for it online before the update. Now it is just a free trial version were no payment is required. And yes, it is 365.

In which case talk to 365 support, they will be able to investigate, you're paying for support. Perhaps the renewal did not roll over?

She did that. They were not bale to help her either. Apparently they are not able to find her and therefor give her the code. Looks like my mother is forced to buy a new version.

But what about Outlook/Win Live not being able to link with Google?

Has to be Word because her job requires it.

What she told me now that she had originally Office 2013. Not 365. My mistake on that.
After the update she was required to sign in, which she never had to do before. In short: it changed from 2013 to 365. This would explain as to why she was requested to sign in and why the telephone service was not able to support her.
So I guess this would explain this issue but still unacceptable that it changed without permission to 365 and requires her to sign in for it she did not want.

So the only real issue there is, that she still can't link Outlook or Win Live Mail to google.
