Just purchased new dell monitor but had some bright spot bottom right which you can see in black background. :/ whole black doesn't seem black enough for me. it got slight ghost effect

already thinking about returning. what exactly is this problem?

That is a textbook definition of backlight bleed. This is an issue that occurs when the backlight of the monitor is able to bleed around the edge of the display.

You could return for a new one as that bleeding is pretty bad and could be the result of damage to the monitor.

Replacement unit had the same freakin problem. bright spot intensity is lower this time but its there. why are they selling it like this? is it damaged when its moved?

Also i can see visible line..surely that ain't normal (caused by backlit bleeding?)

Wow lol I guess the manufacturer ships them without checking for those sorts of things. I can’t see the line you described in the picture. Where is it exactly? If you have a straight line of pixels all the same color then that is definitely damaged. It means it was bent/dropped/etc and some solder point broke causing a line of pixels to die

You can't see exact line in that above picture but yeah its vertical lines in blue background etc. i have rl2455hm now.... there is no such lines in it.

its all maybe blessing in disguise maybe... didn't like how reflective those IPS panels were.. seems way too shiny
