You don't mention the operating system you plan to use, or the version of Skyrim. Also, what settings do you want to be able to use?

If you are talking about the latest version; Skyrim Special Edition, then the minimum RAM is 8GB and you need 12 GB of disk space.

The 1050Ti is better than the minimum required GPU, but below the "recommended" level of GPU capability.

http://www.pcgamer.com/skyrim-special-edition-system-requirements-are-a-lot-higher-than-the-originals/

Older versions of the game are less demanding.

Bottom line. I suggest at least 8GB of RAM. I'd also put in a higher capacity SSD (at least 256GB). The GPU is probably okay.

Well awhile back I got the Windows 10 64-bit OS disc and it's not SSE it's the original Skyrim the 2011 version, thanks for that I didn't realize it was just 4gb of RAM. I am thinking of running on medium settings since I am accustomed to the very low end of gaming because this will be my first build in a very long time of constant 60 fps play on Skyrim.

I saw another build, though and was wondering can it run Skyrim at medium settings @ 1600x900 @ 60 fps?

Or should I just buy a prebuilt with an i5-7400, 1060 3gb at a lower price?

I would be looking at a ryzen 3 build. It will be a true quad core cpu and the socket is going to be supported until 2020 so you would have an upgrade path to something more if you want it. I played skyrim with a 1050ti for a long time and it performed great.

I have all the parts which come to $726 which is still a really great deal. Thanks guys for helping me figure out a build to play Skyrim on. Here's for hoping they release TES: 6 before 2050!
