Onboard ethernet port not working - out of ideas

I had my PC in storage for about 5 months as I was in between moves. Prior to the move it worked perfectly fine. I just set it up again and the onboard ethernet port doesn't seem to be working. I plugged the same ethernet cord into a laptop, which works fine. When I plug it in no lights next to the port light up either.

Things I've tried:
- I bought a new ethernet card and put it into the pci express slot, went into my bios and disabled the motherboard ethernet, plugged in the cable, no dice. With the new card, the activity lights will go on while the computer is booting up, but once booted no lights are on.
- Just reformatted the computer, still not working. Not just a reset on windows 10, but deleted/formatted the partition and installed a fresh windows 10.
- Played around with the Speed and Duplex
- uninstalled and reinstalled drivers

I have no idea why its not working, especially after trying a brand new ethernet card as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks
