Power supply cabling issues

I bought a 500w ATX power supply but I didn't come with the cable to plug the power supply into the mains, will this do as a replacement? https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-2m-uk-mains-to-right-angled-iec-c13-power-cable-n81ef

Also my CPU power connector is only 4 pin and the header on my motherboard is 8 pin , will this adversely affect performance?

If the power cable fits into the back of your PSU it should be fine.

A 4-pin CPU power connector plugged into the 8-pin header is not a problem as long as your not using a high end CPU or you want to do heavy overclocking.

Sounds like you really need to get a higher quality PSU than what you have.

If it doesn't have the correct connections you need then get a better one that does.
