Q6600 G0 OC Unstable

I cant seem to get a stable OC on my Q6600. Im using an Intel DP35DP motherboard which cant overclock, so I decided to try the BSEL mod. I tried the tape mod to boost my clock speed from 2.4Ghz to 3.0Ghz which was successful until I started crashing. Even browsing the web seems to crash it.

Im running a 1.325 VID which is good for a Q6600. My FSB DRAM ratio is 1:1 and my CPU isnt overheating. Any ideas?

Not every Q6600 did 3.0Ghz even when that was the hot thing to do. It's just a failed OC.

How can I tell if its the CPU thats failing or the other components? Also I heard about a VID mod where you connect 2 pins with conductive paint to increase the voltage. Is it possible to just use tin foil instead?

no, if that tin foil moves it could short out your CPU.

You can't tell exactly what component it is, but if your PC is working fine until you OC it, you're going to have to think that's the problem.
