I am awaiting my Asrock z370 1151 Taichi in the mail and wondering if the supplied 750d case fans (3 pin) will be able to speed up/down instead of running at 100% all the time. I realize the fans are not PWM and most likely DC. Any hope without buying a fan controller or new 4 pin PWM fans?

PS Thisis my first build ever and i am extremely excited.... and also broke. lol

Unless connected to a fan controller, the 3-pin fans will run at full speed. You can also use step-down adapters to achieve a lower spin (lower noise and airflow, too), connected to each fan. The Corsair fans are actually pretty good so a fan controller might be a good option for a small cost.

I have two systems using the same case. I like it.

Thanks, COLGeek. Looks like I'll buy a controller at some point depending on how loud the stock fans are. My CPU is going to be cooled with the H115i along with an EVGA 1080 ti FTW3. Hopefully the noise level overall will be tolerable. I do not want to sacrafice cooling for a few less dB.

Most case fans are 3 pin, correct? I could, in theory buy three 4 pin fans as the motherboard fan headers are all 4 pin. It will be a lot cheaper buying a $30 controller though.
