Temp Too High ?

My FX-6300(@3.5Ghz no OC) soars to a constant 78-79*c while gaming.
What i figured could be:
- The bottleneck ( GTX 1060 3GB)
- Thermal paste and stock cooler

Should I be gaming on this rig unitl I upgrade my CPU or Cooler ?

Note: It does not shut down because its Tjmax=90*c.

Hi there, even though these temperatures are pretty high. The temperatures "dangerous" spots are around 85*c. Your temps are pretty high and there is a couple things you could try.

First off I recommend getting https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hmtCmG/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 if you already dont have one. I love this thing and it keeps my CPU 20-30*c cooler.

Next, look into a new cpu for future..
