Hi there!
I acquired an "old" Dell Inspiron M5040 laptop a few days ago despite and its age its actually fine for what I want in a laptop for the most part. I just happened to be in the market for a laptop when this thing came my way so the timing couldn't be better. One of the first things I saw when playing around with this device is how upgradeable Dell made this thing, pretty sweet. Ram is upgradable to 8 GB and CPU is removable/upgradeable as well.
Thing is... I cannot for the life of me find a website that lists all of the known supported CPU's for this device. Everything I find is for the Intel version which has nearly the same model number (Intel model is N5040 as opposed to my AMD model M5040).
Figured if I can get a good price on the best AMD CPU this thing can handle off eBay I mine as well since i don't imagine it being all that expensive.
Below are the tech details and screenshots from CPUID:
Model: Dell Inspiron M540
Mobo: Dell 0RXDMJ
CPU: AMD E2 450
Thanks for any help/details anyone can provide!
