Razer Deathadder (2013) Does Not Work When Connected To a Certain Computer

I own a Razer Deathadder (2013) and recently booted up an old computer. I plugged in the mouse and it wouldn't work, it would not light up or move the cursor. I reset the computer and the same thing happened. I know the mouse works because it works like normal with all the other computers in my household. I also know all the USB ports in my old computer work, because I plugged in a different mouse, and it worked fine. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

I don't really have a solution, had the same thing happen to me with the same mouse, all I did was connect it to another usb port and wait.
Make sure that when you connect the mouse that the OS is not trying to install drivers for it.
You can also check if the system detected the mouse as an unidentified device and work from there.

How long did you wait? I waited at least a few minutes in different ports and it still did not work. Also, I do not think windows is trying to install drivers and I don't even think the system detected the mouse, how would you check to see if the system detected the mouse?

You can check that by going in the control panel -> hardware and check if and Usb port have a ! next to them or if any interface device is shown as "unidentified".

I presume you have razer synapse installed?
I waited a bit and simply reconnected the mouse until he was finally recognized. It happened a long time ago but it was probably due to some conflict or bad usb drivers.

I'll give it a search to see if that is a common problem.

( one quick search later )

Apparently some versions of synapse caused alot of problems for some people. I recommend that you unistall it completely, restart the computer and see if it works. If you are not using synapse then install the latest version and reboot. I'll keep looking.

(Instruction to the problem by Razer)

Make sure that USB ports are not in hibernation mode. Please go to your Windows “Device Manager” and click the + sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Click on any “Root Hub” and select “Properties.” Click the Power Management tab and ensure that “Allow computer to turn off this device to save power” is not checked and proceed to do this under each Root Hub. Also, from the Control Panel and Power Options, select the Hibernation Tab and deselect “Enable hibernate support.”

According to the control panel, the mouse is not detected. I had synapse but I uninstalled it to see if it would fix the problem but it did not. Ill install synapse, reboot then plug the mouse in to see if that will solve the problem, I will update later. Last question, it's a long shot but could it be possible that the usb port is not supplying enough power?

(Another potential solution)

Enabling "ErP Support" in my BIOS settings prevents my mouse from lagging after a cold boot. I assume this is because all power is cut to the mouse when the PC is shut down while ErP is enable. (Enabling ErP turns off functions like Power On by Mouse/Keyboard & Wake On LAN.)

I don't think it is about power because the device does not appear anywhere on the hardware list( not even as "unrecognized" ) meaning that for some reason the mouse connection to the MB via Usb is not finalized for some reason but I could be wrong.

I installed synapse and the mouse still did not work, I also turned off the setting "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" on all the root hubs but I did not find the setting "Enable hibernate support", instead I did Control Panel, Power Options, Change Plan Settings, Change Advanced Plan Settings, USB Setting, USB Selective Suspend setting and disabled this. The mouse still does not work. I am running windows 10.

Try this one. Honestly this is a tough one as the device does not even register. You can also try to unistall all usb devices so the usb driver is reinstalled, could work.

I enabled ErP and even disabled fast boot, but it still did not work. I dont think the uninstalling the drivers will work, because even in the bios it did not detect the mouse, but Ill try it anyway.

Humm try unplugging everything of the computer except the screen and PSU cable. It could be that other devices are messing with the power. That would be a first for me though but worth a shot. The usb ports have a power limit so technically they may not give power to the razer. You can try aswell to turn off lights and put the refresh polling to the minimum on the working computer to try and minimize power draw.

Also try plugging another mouse into the usb port just to make sure it is working 100%

I tried removing everything with only the mouse plugged in and it still did not work, I also tested the port with another mouse and the other mouse worked successfully. Honestly, this is a minor problem and I will just use my old mouse, thanks for all the help though!
