So I'm upgrading my system but I don't know if it's compatible with my motherboard or CPU.
my Current RIG:

i7-4770 3.4Ghz CPU
ASUS H87-PLUS Motherboard

-----------------------
I was looking at a 2400mhz DDR3 2x8 GB, but people recommend 1866mhz to me and never higher. Just to make sure I'm asking before I buy.

Thanks alot!

Solution
Maximum speed allowed by your motherboard is 1600 MHz. No sense buying faster RAM.

Due to Intel® chipset limitation, DDR3 1600 MHz and higher memory modules on XMP mode will run at the maximum transfer rate of DDR3 1600 Mhz.

RAM speed doesn't really matter, it has been tested numerous times and the difference in performance is minimal.
Pretty much any RAM you buy is going to be alright, it's the one component you should worry about the least. As long as your motherboard supports DDR3, which it does, you're good to go!

How would I know? But if I had to guess, the answer would be: because the people you asked had no clue about the matter.
