MSI Z370-A PRO and 1X8 GB DDR4 RAM

Hi all;

I have msi z370a pro mobo and a few minutes ago I ordered Crucial Ballistix 1x8GB DDR4 2400 MT/s Memory but my friend said that I have to have at least 2 ram kit for this mobo like 4x2 not 1x8?

Is that correct? Thanks.

If you only have one stick of RAM it will run in single channel mode. No surprise you're only getting 1 stick, RAM is expensive. But when you do buy another stick, make sure you put them in the gray slots. A2 and B2.
