someone please help me!

heres my story...

so recently I got a gtx 1060 3gb. I plugged it into my tv as I was waiting for a cord so I could plug it into my other monitor. I got the drivers set up with a little bit of difficulty but eventualy got everything working. however, when I got the new cord and tried plugging it into my monitor, windows kept bsod'ing over and over. I eventualy got the bsod'ing to stop by uninstalling my drivers with ddu.

this was not the problem...

every time I clicked the .exe file I downloaded from NVidia (version 388.71) it would get to a random % and each time it would pop up with ERROR: 7zip CRC error. I tried everything! I could sometimes get it to work in safe mode but when the drivers came to be installed it would display that installation had failed.

I did research and tried downloading it from different browsers, that didn't work. that's also when I found out that chrome would no longer work.

I don't know what to do, it worked before on my other tv, I played some games and did some tests just fine. why wont they install on this monitor? its pretty old (uses VGA ;-;) I'm connected to it with an active Display port to VGA adapter. could this be the problem?

I even tried using GeForce experience, but every time I ran THAT it would close and also say CRC error!

help!

Solution
The 7ZIP error message is likely going to be a result of a corrupt download. I would recommend downloading it again fully, and make sure it reaches 100% download. The file you are trying to open may have parts of it missing.

Another thing you could do is check your firewall settings to see if it's interfering with your driver installation.
