need help with "your cpu is 95w (over) prepare to shutdown" message

Mobo simmtronics simm int g41 d3 v1
Rams 2x4gb
Cpu previously was e5700 dual core (lga775) which was working fine . Now upgraded to q9650 3 ghz(LGA775) with 95w tdp. When I boot with q9650 there is this message that I have mentioned at top. I know for sure that my mobo supports C2Q as it is shown on the mobo pack and I have also checked on internet. Can someone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it. Does my motherboard supports 95w tdp cpu or not? Do I have to change something in bios or update the bios.

Solution
Yes, change the setting. It would not be included as part of the firmware, unless you have installed a custom bios firmware not supplied by the manufacturer, if it was not intended to be used with 95w processors. The q9650 IS a 95w processor.

How to update the bios, steps by step procedure.
Also there is an option in bios to enable 95 w tdp cpu support under power management. Is it safe? What is the purpose of that option surely it must not be there to fry your motherboard. Please advice..

Well...if your new processor (Now upgraded to q9650 3 ghz(LGA775) with 95w tdp) can handle 95w ...enable support for it. The purpose of that option is probably so you don't fry other processors? Not sure...but it only makes sense to enable support for 95w tdp if your processor can handle 95 watts.

Yes it worked , enabling 95w tdp cpu support under power management in bios worked!!

Thanks you all, specially darkbreeze and jay32267
The manufacturer put it there for a reason, that in case you need to use 95w tdp cpu you can enable it.
