Upgraded to 7700k. Stick with B250 board or buy a Z270?

How much difference in gaming is it REALLY going to make? Is 4.8+ghz & 3000mhz RAM, Versus stock 4.2GHZ & 2133 RAM more of a psychological thing?

Would it add any longevity to the build at all, or would I likely be looking to upgrade at the same time regardless?

I'm seeing charts that show like a 4FPS difference between 4.2 and 5GHZ. I'm also seeing charts that show maybe a 1-2FPS max difference between 2133MHZ and 3000MHZ.(several games show no difference)
Is it safe to say there would only be a total of about a 6FPS difference on a game that already has 100+ FPS?
What about future/more demanding games? how would that scale? Even less difference, or more profound/significant?

I'm mainly trying to determine if upgrading now, while Z270 boards are more available would make my build last any longer. Right now the 7700k is overkill for me and my 60hz monitor, but I am wondering if maybe in the future I'll wish I got the Z270...

Solution
I'm thinking your improvement will be minimal no matter what application you run. I wouldn't upgrade the board and I'd stash the money. Z270 boards will always be available. I'm still buying 386 and 486 PCs on EBay.

Sooo...expanding on that question a bit.

I now have an extra G4560 processor and a 30 dollar discount on a motherboard for buying the 7700k. Seems like I'd be foolish not to build another PC, considering I can get a B250 board for 35 dollars.

The question is:

1) B250 for 35 dollars and build the new computer using that? or...

2) Z270 for 75-100 dollars, take the B250 out of my current case and use the Z270 for my 7700k, then use my old B250 to build another computer with the old processor.

Basically one option is cheap/easy, the other is expensive/a pain...not sure it would even be worth all the trouble...
