RAM not compatible with processor generation?

Hello. I currently own an Intel 2600k with a P8P67 Deluxe motherboard. Yesterday I've acquired 2 new memory sticks, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x4 GB (CMY8GX3M2A1600C9). However, after the purchase I've noticed that it's stated on corsair's website that this kit only works on 3rd and 4th generation of Intel processors. I've done a test on PC part picker to look for incompatibilities but none were found, so I'm asking to see if I'll experience any kind of problems. Thanks!

It might work and might not work you will have to try it.
If it dont work try adding 0.05 volts to the memory.
Thats allright. They advertise the latest compatible generation for marketing purpose, but you should be fine as long as the motherboard supports the rated speed.
If you check the CPU support page of your motherboard, it actually supports 3rd gen. Intel processors.

The only place you run into problems is if your using a older board that the CPU does not support todays higher density memory. Yours should be fine unless your trying to add that memory to the memory you already have then you could have problems.

If they are DDR3 DIMMs they may work. Mixing and matching RAM is always a gamble even if the numbers match up. If the capacities don't match you will lose dual channel mode right off the bat.
