hi guys,
I've been streaming for a few years in the GTA:sa community but im looking to upgrade so i can expand to games like league and GTA:V.
I tried to stream league but it was too much strain on my cpu and wouldnt stop lagging on obs. I'm looking for the cheapest route possible for a powerful streaming/gaming pc.
Currently running:
Cpu: AMD A8-6600k APU (fm2+) (3.90GHz)
GPU: GTX 1060 3gb (new)
Mainboard: Asus Crossblade Ranger
RAM: DDR3 shitty 8gb ram (1800MHz)
HDD: some cheap 1tb, has everything on it
PSU: corsair cx750m.

please help, thanks

On a tight budget the ryzen 1400 & the pc mate & yes you need new ddr 4 ram.

Have you tried shadowplay native streaming ?? It removes most if not all cpu overhead as its gpu based.

Also to stream an online mmporg game like legends you need a very very good net connection

Streaming puts a lot of strain on the CPU. First, your CPU has to work as hard as it takes just to run the game. Then the CPU has to run the software to stream the game, including whatever encoding that entails.

A simple test for you. Run MSI Afterburner while you stream GTA SA. Note the CPU usage. Now run League and stream it, and note the CPU usage. Based on your description of your results, I'd bet that streaming GTA SA doesn't push the CPU to 100% much, if at all. But I bet it maxes out on the other games.

Unfortunately, I don't think any APU/CPU upgrades on the FM2+ platform are going to fix this. That platform wasn't designed for hardcore gaming, much less gaming and streaming. What you can do is experiment with OBS settings. Maybe by reducing the quality of the video you're streaming you can reduce the workload on your A8 enough that you can smooth out the lag.

You want cores and threads, and you want a CPU not an APU, for best game streaming results. For you this means a different motherboard. If you go used, you can reuse your DDR3 system ram. So you'd only need the motherboard and CPU. If you go new you'll need the motherboard, the CPU, and DDR4 system ram.

Or you can stick to streaming older or less demanding games with your current system.

im thinking of just getting a new mobo and cpu, and adding to it when I have spare money, I was thinking AMD ryzen 1600, 1600x or 1700. With a
MSI AMD AM4 B350 PC Mate Ryzen Gen DDR4 or
MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON Socket AM4 AMD Ryzen 7th Gen Athlon DDR4? would this mean i have to get new ram compatible with the new boards?
