My new Realtek USB Wireless soft wear won't finish installing on Windows 10. The program starts but hangs before it finishes.

Solution
I still don't see any brand for the wifi dongle (usually Realtek provides the component to a branded company), but I would go to the labeled manufacturer web site and download the latest driver.

It may be better if you put the drivers on a USB stick and then load them onto your local drive prior to installation.

If there are already drivers indicated by the device manager use the update driver, otherwise just install them from the folder on your local drive.

Hello RealBeast. Sorry for delay in getting back to you. I have now ordered a replacement unit but it is failing to install at the same point. Here are the only details I have about the unit.

Wifi Dongle, AC600 802.11ac Dual Band 5GHz Mini Wireless Network USB Wifi Adapter for PC Desktop Laptop Tablet, Support Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000, Mac Os X 10.4-10.12

I use an HP Pavilion g6 laptop with a 1TB SSHD recently installed. The Realtek installation CD is on my F drive.

Hope this helps.
