Hey guys, Ive been asking for help quite frequently recently just im not sure whats my best option here, this is my current set up: i5 3570k
gtx 1060 6gb
h61m dgs r2.0 ( non over clockable :| )
8gb ddr3
500w power supply
hyper 212 evo

I was planning to buy the i7 3770 and another 8gb of ddr3 but now im not sure on whether thats the best idea, maybe if theres a better cpu i can get with £180-200 or if buying a new motherboard and ram could be better ( If i overclock ) I only plan on playing Rainbow Six siege and Cs:Go.
Any help would be appreciated just want to know the best option for gaming before I buy anything in..
The only options I can think about with my budget is getting a better cpu ( 1155 so probs i7 3770 )
or getting new motherboard and ram so i can overclock. Will that get better performance ? Is it safe to do on my setup?
Thanks everyone :)

Could you possibly go into more detail? like if I were to go for Ryzen would it just be my cpu im replacing? or like motherboard and that.. and If i dont decide to go with ryzen what would be the "2nd best" option? Cpu + Ram or Mobo + Ram?

What is the main purpose for this pc?
If the pc is mainly used for batch production apps that can use many cores, then a I7 upgrade will get you 4 more threads which is good.

OTOH, if this is mainly used for gaming, then the single thread performance of your 4 cores is more important.
Your i5-3570K@3.4 has a passmark rating of 7159 and a single thread rating of 2028. Not too shabby at all.
From a cpu point of view, your most economical upgrade would be to replace the motherboard with one capable of overclocking.
That really will have to come from the used market.

Unless you are multitasking while gaming, 8gb should be sufficient.

Anything stronger, like going to a current gen intel or ryzen cpu is going to bust your budget.
You need not only the cpu, but the motherboard and ddr4 ram.

Do a test.

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

If you need a graphics upgrade, your budget is not going to buy a sufficiently stronger graphics card.

Download MSI Afterburner to monitor your CPU/GPU/RAM usage. If any of them runs at or near 100% consistently, that one is bottleneck your system. If i7 3770 is expensive, then get i7 2600. Performance difference probably 5% or less.

If you go with intel 4th gen or 4th gen plus, you can reuse DDR3 memory but it will require new mobo LGA1150 and new CPU LGA1150 socket. If you pick Intel after 4th gen or Ryzen, then new mobo, CPU, and DDR4 memory will be required.
