I want to use an old Maxtor external hard drive on a Windows 10 laptop. Previously used the drive as a place to download Dish Network movies. I can see the drive in the device manager but cannot see it in the file manager.

If you can see the disks in 'diskpart' then you could perform a clean function.

Be careful - read what diskpart can do first - you can accidentally wipe the wrong disk.
