Hi,

I bought a MSI B350 Gaming Pro motherboard and the G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB (2x8GB) RAM and am having some issues setting the BIOS to overclock 3200mhz. I checked the reddit website which lists all of the compatible Ryzen 1600 ram sticks and found that mine is on the list (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB).

When I turn on the overclock to 3200mhz the PC boots but the BIOS beeps slowly three times. It does that every time I reboot. When I go back to the stock 2133mhz setting it stops beeping.

Should I try another set of memory sticks or is there a way to get this to work? I am on the latest BIOS version which apparently fixed some memory issues.

Hi nat.miletic :)

G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GVKB are not listed on the current MB QVL and so have not been tested in conjunction with the MSI B350 Gaming Pro Motherboard. Your Bios is defaulting to 2133MHz as the best training option to allow a successful Boot.
That's not to say they will not work however it may take Bios intervention in your DRAM Timing and voltage control options to get them to their rated speed.
Ensure your Bios is up to date to address the many DDR4 RAM modules being released on the market.

Here is the MB QVL which lists kits that have been tested. It's always best to select a kit from the QVL.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like its not supported and hence why I am having issues.

I am going to swap it out with a supported type (thanks to the website) but have to drop down to 2666mhz instead since there is nothing 3200mhz that's available in stock here at my local store.
