I just need the cheapest motherboard that can fully and reliably run the fx 8350 CPU that I already have.

I'm not super keen on computer parts yet, but I've done a ton of research in the past few days and realized that my current mobo isn't strong enough to fully utilize the fx 8350 cpu. From what I understand, it has to do with the VRM phases. My asrock 960gm/u3s3 only has 4 VRM phases while my CPU typically requires 6 good VRM phases. With my current setup, programs and games lag out much easiler on my CPU than it should if it was working normally, and I just realized from looking at task manager that the clock speed drops to around 1.4 every time my PC starts to lag out on a program like FL studio or while video editing. That happens presumably because the VRM phases on my mobo overheat because it is working extra hard to power my CPU, so my CPU downclocks as a failsafe to prevent my motherboard from constantly overheating.

I mainly just want to be able to run FL Studio reasonably on my computer. That's my priority. My chip is rated very well for FL performance, I just need a motherboard that can maintain it.

After a lot of research, I landed on the MSI 970A Pro Carbon as the one that would be good to get (I already ordered one from ebay). I want my chip up and running ASAP, so I just ordered it, but the scope of the world of PC parts seem so large, there are so many options out there. Is there a better choice I could have made for my goal, which is simply to buy the cheapest motherboard that will reliably run my fx 8350 at a normal level? I was looking at the MSI 970 Gaming at first until I figured out that the ones I could find were more expensive for some reason than the Pro Carbon.

I'm in the US.

Here's my current spec list on speccy. https://i.imgur.com/GJOaFwH.png

My case is the HAF Cooler Master. I have 3 fans, one the stock cooler that came with the fx 8350, one is on the back of the case around where the usb & hdmi ports are, and the other is in my PSU, which is the Corsair 430W.

Also, what would be a good cooler option for this setup? Right now I only have the cooler that came with the amd fx 8350.
