Greeting everyone :)

I'm planing to build my new PC: Asrock z370 + 8700k + gtx 1080

My question is about Pro4 vs Extreme4 version, i read all the features of those MB and found that i dont need any advanced features the Extreme4 offering, but there are few questions i need to ask:

1: Can i get my 8700k to 4.7 easily with Pro4 as with Extreme4?
2: Some people said that the Pro4 uses one VRM heatsink located on top of the left set, while the top set is left without a heatsink. In some cases, particularly when overclocking, this can lead to overheating.
I will OC only my CPU, and i had Thermalright cooler, so in which case overheating will happen with my rig? I'm in asia,so the temp is pretty high compare to EU.
3: I only want to play game with 1080p@60fps, so Pro4 or Extreme4 or either will work well?
4: Can i install win 7 or have to install win 10?

Thanks for your help, i really appreciate that!!!!

P/S: In my place, Extreme 4 = Pro4 + 60$, and i want to use that 60$ for my protein powder rather than having some more USB ports XD.

Extreme4 is a much better motherboard for overclocking. Get it if you can afford :)
Mild overclocking is fine with that cooler, no heavy ones.
GTX 1080 is way overkill for 1080p. Your rig can handle 1440p 100+ FPS gaming pretty well, not to say 1080p.
Win 7 can be installed with tweaks, but I suggest Win 10 to save those hassles and Win 7 will lose support by 2020.

Thanks Vapour, i had to buy alot of other things like case, fan, PSU, so i want reduce the cost as much as possible, so if i go for Pro4 and only get 4.7 Ghz, will my rig run well? what about overheating?

When will Zen 2 be released? i dont think i can wait 2-3 months, lol, life is not for waiting XD

ihave the pro4 and 8700k at 5ghz. the top vrm doesnt even really get hot i dont think so it probably doesnt matter. stories of vrm problems and cpu's hitting 90 degrees are based mostly on prime95 tests with small fft's and other things made to generate massive heat. i have a dh15 air cooler and at 5ghz with 1.26v every game i play the cpu is at about 55-65 degrees. games, even if the cpu is at 100%, dont really stress cpu's that hard. at least not as hard as scientific work or rendering videos and 3d models. for gaming the pro4 is more than good enough. even for a little video editing. the bmw render runs at about 75 degrees and is a fairly intense workload. of course my dh15 is as good or better than most any watercooler under 100 dollars so keep that in mind. but if you get a decent chip like mine and you want to run 4.7, set your voltage to offset mode and dial in -100 and you should be stable. also keep in mind that there is an avx offset that downclocks avx code and some games use it like ark and pubg. so the cpu will downclock to that speed. so if you want 4.7, then set your chip to 4.8 and set the avx offset to 1 (it wont let you set it to 0 for some reason) and it will run at 4.7 at least in all games. but if you are doing video work or anything other than gaming and normal desktop stuff ( rendering) these settings will be hot and possibly unstable depending on your chip. get the pro4!!!!
