As above , I can either buy now or wait for volta. I know that there are only rumors , but if you were me , would you buy now? I am borrowing my brother's gtx 770 now as I sold my gtx 1070 , what are your opinion?

Solution
Well from what I've read the 1070ti is the way to go, but if it were me I would probably go with the 1080ti, but that really depends on what resolution you are gaming at. If you are going for high refresh 1080p or 1440p 60 hz, then the 1070 or 1070ti. If you are going for high refresh 1440p, then 1070ti or 1080. If you are going for 4k, 1080 or 1080ti. Now Volta is still way up in the air so I can't comment on what could be. But I've had a 770 and you need the upgrade.

If I was buying NOW I would go with a GTX 1080 or GTX 1080Ti, invest in something that will last awhile performance wise down the road.

Idk why but I get a feeling like you read the hole thing wrong. I don't need advises as "if u game at 4k get 1080 , if at 1080p get 1070 ti" , I am in the business for quite a while and I know the performance of the cards , my budget is only at this price range and I can't afford getting gtx 1080 ti. I can either buy gtx 1080 for 20 euros more than 1070 ti or wait for volta. Idk if I should wait for volta , so that's why I am asking. As for gtx 770 , it's my brothers I sold my gtx 1070 a week ago and I am using it in the meantime. Don't get it into consideration , I canm wait for volta for 4 months if it will come out at this time and get it , but if it will be announced at april and released in september , than I need to buy now. I am from Poland and we get stuff like a month after release.

Ps. Don't get me wrong , I am not trying to be rude. :D Just tell me if it makes any sense to wait for volta or should I go for 1080 now , as I need to decide so.

Could be longer than 4 months, a lot longer because we all never know until they actually come out and then even longer for the partner cards to come out. You know the ones without the blower fans. You could be looking at 6 to 8 months.

Then wait for the new models of those to hit the market etc, you can play the waiting game forever waiting for the next best thing.

So yes I think it would be worth it to get a GTX 1080 NOW.

None of that information was in your original post.

But, with this additional information, the answer is "your guess is as good as ours" - since we don't really know what Nvidia's up to.

Me, personally, I plan to at least wait for Volta, and see how it affects things. When it comes out, I might get it, or I might get a 1080 or 1080Ti once Volta becomes the new top card. But, that's because I run 3820x1600.

It doesn't metter due to gpu boost. Just need to know whether palit is worth it as I know it has coil whine , as well as msi gaming x (the biggest problems of those cards , these have the biggest probabbility to get the worst models) , of course every card has coil whine , but these are sometimes ridicilous. That's why I am asking whether I should consider palit because it has a little bit better opinions as I read on Polish forums so I want to ask here also.

Holy crap dude, either you want our opinions or make up your own mind. We're trying to help and you either get an attitude or just ignore what we say. Just buy whatever the heck you want whenever you want, because that's what you are going to do anyway. If you actually want a person's input, then when they give it say thanks, otherwise don't waste everyone's time since you obviously don't care about what we have to say. This kind of thing is part of the reason that I hate trying to help people.

Well I will not argue because you just shown your inteligency level. Nothing to add. Everybody understood on linus forum and Polish forums so that means that there is something wrong with your interpretation. Have a great day and really learn how to read propperly. This thread is in need to be closed.

Ps. I am not trying to be rude , I am just correcting your suggestion about the gpu boost so nobody who is not in the business doesn't get suggested by it. I do have a right to express my opinion due to freedom of speech. I asked simple question and I did told what I expected. Trying to show you that you are the one beying rude and you either accept the heat or need to get out of a kitchen baby. That's life and you need to start accepting other people's opinion or nobody will even want to speak to you. Trying to make you realise that you need to change that.

You know, I just noticed that you are a supposed "Graphics Card Authority" and the foolish questions that you raised has shown your lack of intelligence. GPU boost is good, but EVERY manufacturer overclocks their GPUs to different points and the GPU boost will increase the clocks from that point if the temps allow. If you were as intelligent or as computer savvy as you appear to be, you would know this. Yes I was a little annoyed by the way you seemed to dismiss anyone's thoughts, suggestions, or or personal info and I could have said it better, but you getting a case of the ass when someone misreads your post with your subpar English and grammar, that makes you look like a jerk. As for "accept the heat or get out of a kitchen baby", you should really learn the lines before you butcher them and also people like myself are here to help as long as when we attempt the individuals don't get mouthy if we misinterpreted what they wanted to know when sometimes it will all come down to whatever the person wants to do, not what anyone else thinks, such as in your situation.

Nope man , the questions are not foolish. I am just picky when it comes to my stuff. I never had palit cards and thats why I asked the questions. You can tell that I am a gpu authority as I even corrected you with gpu clock speed due to gpu boost from nvidia that makes the cards have no difference and also you can overclock gpu by yourself. Please before you say things like that read the answers I gave to other people and read once again what are my questions. :)
