I'm looking to purchase a gaming pc for around $500 to $600 tops but I can't tell from the specs how good the video card is. I see the name GTX around a lot. Is there a chart or guide that will tell me how good the cards are?

Here's a system I missed out on that would fit my budget

That is actually a decent budget build. Suitable for 1080p gaming.

For performance comparisons you would need something to measure against, like a particular game you want to play. Otherwise you can look at relative performance. For the very basics : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

Or a full card review which will show you comparisons in many games to other available products: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-graphics-card-roundup,4724-2.html
