My current PC config is like this :

Intel core i5 2320
GTX 1060 6gb DDR5
8gb DDR3 RAM

Now as you can guess , the cpu is bottlenecking the life out of my GPU especially in open world games.

I was thinking of upgrading the PC, but then I got this really good deal where I am getting a PS4 Slim at 60% of the current market price !

So will it be wise if I just skip upgrading the PC and get the PS4 instead ? Please help !

Note : I would still play multi platform games on PC. PS4 would mainly be for Exclusives and unoptimized PC Games !

Your PC is still good...I think you just need to upgrade your i5 to i7 2600 or 3770. Buy PS4 if you really want it and look for a good deal for used i7 on ebay.
as a PC gamer, and console owner, I can honestly say (for me at least) i will always keep/upgrade my PC over taking the next gen console. Apart form the exclusive games you may want to play on a console, the PC hardware wise and upgradeable, will always win out for me. Others may have a different opinion.
Apart from those exclusive games, you can play everything else on a PC, and prviding you have decent hardware, will always get better graphics, processing power etc with a PC.

I suppose the answer for you, depends on what you want. You could upgrade the PC platform, get a Ryzen 5 CPU, B350 mobo, 16gb of fast ram, all for about 500 bucks. Keep your gtx1060 (which is a very decent gaming card, I know, I have one) and you have a very capable gaming machine.

If on the other hand the price is low enough for the PS4, and you can put up with the limitation of the system, then for the short term it may be good (keeping in mind, it will prob meet it's end of life in 2 years, as a new console is released)

The choice is tough. For me the PC always wins out.
