My PUBG is frequently getting lag spikes when new stuff in the game happens(like if the bombs in a redzone starts dropping or if I get shot at) So as you can imagine this makes me die a lot of unfair deaths to my opponents, so I want to fix this but for the lowest price i can, so therefore i am writing here instead of just randomly swapping out pc parts until it's fixed.

PC SPECS:
I5-4690K
GEFORCE GTX 960 2GB
KINGSTON 8GB 1600MHZ DDR3
The game is running on my 140 GB SSD from Kingston

How do i see that in MSI Afterburner, but isn't it enough to watch it in the task manager?

task manager will be fine also. Your GPU definitely bottleneck your system. You can go on youtube to check out using your 4690K with other GPU to see if it will irmprove your pubg without having to commit money. May be you need to lower setting in pubg to see if it will help.

PUBG is a real crappy running game

overclock the cpu and get gtx 1060 6gb

depending on your power supply, you may also need a new one

What exactly am I supposed to search for?
It's not that my pc can't run the game because my framerate even on like high-medium settings is always above 60 fps, except when I get these lag spikes when something new happens around me.
To me it seems like my pc is using everything it can to get those framerates but whenever like some new particle effects ex. from a bomb hitting the ground, it just can't handle it, and therefore my fps drops so it can get those particles rendered by sacrificing my fps
