Is my rx 560 underperforming or getting bottlenecked?

I have a g4400 and rx 560 overclocked and I'm getting 10 - 20 fps in battlefield 1. Others get much higher and can't figure out what the problem is. I've worked and researched all day and am getting extremely annoyed.

EDIT: I played a couple more games on bf1 and noticed that I got the same exact frame rate on low medium and high at 1080p and 900p. I'm assuming that this is probably my CPU bottle necking.

I heard that there was a security breach in intel, and the cpu's performance will be decreased by ALOT. If i would have to upgrade to ryzen that would be more expensive by about $70.

It might be the CPU, the reason is that particular game really does use the extra two threads you'd have with a dual core with hyperthreading. Your dual core unfortunately does not have hyperthreading.

A dead giveaway is when you can change resolutions and yet the framerate doesn't change. That can be a sign that your videocard is working fine but your CPU is maxed out.

If you run a dual core friendly game and get normal framerates this would prove it. If you don't own any games which only need two cores, try a free to play game. You just need something besides a game that needs a quad core to test this.

that's exactly what I was thinking. And I saw some benchmarks on youtube with this combo and they got normal frames but I don't know. I'll probably upgrade to a ryzen 1600 soon to avoid any decrease in performance that may hit me and have those 2 extra cores.
