So I've been having this problem for a while now where my computer just shuts off when I'm playing games. I thought it was my psu at first so I bought a new one but it is still randomly shutting off. My gpu is an amd Radeon 7770 and I have 4 gigs of hyperx ram. My processor is an amd a8 5600k quad core and my motherboard is a gigabyte motherboard ga-f2a75m-d3h. Oh also new psu is corsair cx 650m. Any help would be great. I've been looking around the internet for why and they're all saying things that could be happening but I'm not sure which I could be having.

cpu temp says its running at about 90c idle which I know is really bad. My fan is running and i cleaned it out but it still runs 90. What should I do about this and also is there anything else that could be affecting the crashes other than the cpu temp?

Yeah, that's your problem, 90 celsius idle means the CPU is likely hitting the thermal shutdown point when being put under any sort of real load. Your CPU cooler is probably not mounted properly and isn't making contact with the CPU. Remount the cooler and that should fix your temperature issues.

I have it mounted but it still says its at 90, the cooler isnt super good though so I might just have to replace it. Do you know any good brands that I should look at? I don't know all that much about computer brands

Did you clean off the CPU and apply new thermal paste when your remounted the cooler? If you didn't that might be the source of the problem. The stock cooler also likely had a plastic cover on the bottom too, if that wasn't removed that would also do it.

If you want to go with an aftermarket cooler, decent low cost options that should fit unless you have a very slim case would include the Cryrorig H7 or the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO.
