Hi everyone,

I am currently running a Windows 7 system.

Shortly after booting (perhaps 3-5 minutes in), my computer will flicker to Windows Basic, and then show me the blue screen of death. It says STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA800A621B10, 0xFFFFFA800A621DF0, 0xFFFFF800037DEE40). I let it run for about 2 minutes but the blue screen doesn't go away, so I push and hold the power button to restart. Upon restarting, I instantly get put into UEFI and no matter how I try to exit, I get instantly sent back into UEFI. I can only manage to boot by cutting power abruptly (unplugging) and then trying to power up. (Works 1 time per 10 tries)

Things I have tried to do to troubleshoot:
1. Booting into Ubuntu from USB stick and it works fine, I could do work for an hour without any crashes
2. CrystalDiskinfo shows healthy for both my SSD (my boot drive) and HDD (purely for storage)
3. Windows Memory Diagnostic didn't find any errors
4. Scannow and Chkdsk didn't find any errors on either drive
5. I have also reseated my SATA cables for both drives and my RAM. I even tried swapping SATA ports for my boot drive.
6. Windows Reliability Monitor flags "Windows was not properly shut down".

Things I have installed lately:
Trend Micro Internet Security

Somehow if the "Welcome" message from Trend Micro doesn't pop up, I know a crash is imminent. I did a full uninstall and fresh re-install with tools from their customer service rep, but the problem still persists.

Can anyone give me some advice for this? I will really appreciate any sort of help I can get for this.

Computer specs (built in 2014):
Core i5-4570
Asrock H87M Pro4
Kingston 8GB RAM
Crucial 120GB SSD
Toshiba 2TB HDD
MSI R9 270X
Seasonic 620W PSU

Hi Paul, Yes I can log into Windows only after many tries of cutting the power and booting. I checked the minidump folder but it's empty. I also tried using BlueScreen Viewer but there are no logs...I just changed the settings to "small memory dump" instead of kernel memory dump, so next time if there are crashes I'll post the logs.

Thanks!

1.Have you tried startup repair?2.Remove your ram sticks and re insert them.3.Clear CMOS.4.Check your temps and if all the fans are working when you start your pc.5.When you install Windows unplug your hdd and reconnect after.6.Shut off your internet connection and download drivers manually from official sites.(maybe windows automatic drivers installer fucks something up.)

Hi sickaid,

1. I tried startup repair but it always crashes halfway
2. Did that, didn't solve the problem (I ran memtest86 too, and 0 errors after 3-4 hours)
3. I'm not sure if this counts as CMOS, but I tried resetting the BIOS back to factory default (it's in the settings in UEFI). Does that count?
4. Temps are fine, I can hear the fans moving and the air at the exhaust fan felt cool to me
5. I replugged into the same SATA port, a different SATA port, but the problem still exists
6. I'll try to do that, perhaps one of the first few startup programs is causing this issue. As far as I can think of, probably my wifi adapter, AMD radeon and Trend Micro are the first few programs to startup.

Thanks a lot sickaid! Really much appreciated.

By resetting i mean remove battery of your mobo and put it back in after 5 mins or so.Also try installing another copy of windows (maybe yours are bad cracked or something..).I didnt say anything about switching hdd sata port.I ment unplug competely your second drive while installing windows and replug it after you are done with Windows installation. Is your RAM DDR3?And check your temps via HWmonitor or AIDA64.FIRST THING TO DO AFTER INSTALLING WINDOWS IS TO UPDATE THEM.THEN INSTALL ANY PROGRAM YOU WANT.
